"When I was ten years old, I was able to persuade my parents to let
me take riding lessons. It was to be just lessons, because we certainly didn't have
a place to put a horse. That was eight years, seven horses, and millions of
wonderful memories ago. Riding and showing with Liz McBride-Jones has made a lasting
impression in my life."

| "I have learned from and loved seven wonderful horses while riding in both equitation and performance divisions. Shah was my first horse, and remains at our barn still teaching young riders. Robin was my first show pony, and helped me earn my first blue ribbons. She could fly at a trot, and Liz had to keep reminding me to slow down, she was a pleasure pony. Penny was the grand old man with the big heart, and he remains at the barn eager to go. Asa was always a challenge, but what a performer in the ring! One of my most memorable rides was a 19 horse juvenile pleasure class ending with Asa and me in a two horse work-out to determine the winner. That win was quite a thrill. Ozzie was my biggest horse. At Roanoke, Liz always covered the the stall with 2 feet of bedding to protect the horses from the asphalt stalling. Kids would walk past Ozzie and ogle at his size, already tall and now two feet taller. Roman was my love. All heart and gorgeous, he took me to ribbons in equitation at Lousiville. He now carries a young 10 and under in California, and I look forward to reading about him this year. Little Atari, my mini-penny, is my sweet mannered poadster pony, and I'm enjoying every moment of driving him." | |
| "Riding has been a major part of my entire family's life. They've encouraged and supported me sharing my disappointments and my joy. My barn family has been the best, and will always have a special place in my heart. Riding has been such a gift, I feel truly blessed" | ![]() Supreme Roman "Roman" |
